The Domestic Cleaning of Mold
Mold is a type of fungus that can be a real problem. It has a way of spreading throughout your house and it just causes damage. It can be cleaned from visible view, but it is exceptionally hard to get rid of. It just seems to come back after you leave it for a while. Mold can cause a lot of damage too, especially to your carpet, walls and even your furniture if it gets on there. If you notice any mold, you should tackle the problem now before it turns worse. I’m going to share with you the methods you have to use for the domestic cleaning of mold.
Bleach is probably about your best weapon for this problem. There is risk associated with using bleach because if you use it, it can change the color of things. It is best to mix your bleach with water. The reason this is such an effective method at dealing with mold is due to the fact that bleach will kill it. Depending on where it turns up in your home, you can apply much different methods for it.
In my home, we used to have a problem with a particular room that would get mold on the carpet by the walls. You don’t want to dump bleach on the carpet because it will change color. What I did was mix water and bleach into a spray bottle and sprayed the perimeter of the room. I didn’t have to do any scrubbing and I didn’t have to clean up any mess. I just sprayed it and let it stay. I did it the very next week to make sure I didn’t miss a thing.
There is another method for the domestic cleaning of mold that doesn’t require the use of bleach. What you can use is a steamer. There’s plenty hand held ones that you can get. This is effective because boiling hot steam is hot enough to kill the mold. The great thing about a steamer is that you can use it on anything without the fear of it changing the color of it.
It is quite possible that you could get mold on some of your furniture. It usually happens on the lower parts of it. Using bleach on furniture might be a little too risky for you, so a steamer works wonders in this case. You can just steam the mold right off the couch and it causes absolutely no damage because all you’re spraying on it is moist air. There are no chemicals to cause any damage.
When it comes to the domestic cleaning of mold you have a lot of options available to you. The two most common methods are bleach and steam, which both have their positives. The key for dealing with any mold problem is tackling it early before it turns into a huge problem.
